World's Fair

The elementary classes have been busy learning about countries around the world.  On November 30, we invited our parents to come see what we learned.

2nd grade learned about India.  In my class, I am grateful to have two families who have been missionaries in India.  These mom's were very helpful in teaching the class a song in Hindi and other facts about this wonderful country and culture.

My student teacher did most of the planning and teaching of this big unit.  She did a great job.  I had the opportunity to help a few days when she was doing big, messy projects and needed an extra hand.  It was fun and I was glad to help.  She did a great job decorating our classroom for the parents and other students to see what we learned.

We also had some wonderful guest speakers and helpers with the unit.  There is a Christian Indian family from ICSB who came to share with us.  Also, two families from my class have lived there before.  They were invaluable in providing resources, sharing stories and pictures to help us learn.

Over all the World's Fair was a huge success.  The students learned about another culture, people, and language that God has created and values.
