The First Week
Ahh...the first days of school have come and gone. We had three full days of school this past week. I was excited to meet my students and to welcome them into my classroom.
My class is so sweet. They are quiet, at least right now! We've been going through all the rules and procedures that are necessary at the beginning of the school year. On Friday, we had our first Bible lesson. It brought joy to my heart to see and hear their excitement about having their own Bibles for school. We looked through them, and talked about the different parts. We even sang the Books of the Bible song they learned in first grade. Then, I taught the how to find books, chapters and verses. We practiced looking up a verse in Psalms and a verse in John. They were so excited!! Several of the kids (and parents at meet the teacher) asked if they got to bring these Bibles home at the end of the year, sadly they do not as they are used each year. What a blessing it is to see their eagerness to know God's word. I pray that it is that way always. I pray that my heart would be over joyed with His word, the freedom it brings and the opportunity I have the read it freely.
Looking forward to many more days wit these students and sharing the love of God with them. Pray that I would grow in increasing knowledge of the love of God for me so I might be able to share it with them.

Amanda, how many Bibles would you like to have? I have some NIV's that I would be glad to have Robert bring over when he comes the 28th. That way they could bring one home. Let me know. I don't know for sure how many I have right now on hand but I'm sure I could get more before he comes. Elaine
