The Greatest Story

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby keeping watch over their fields at night.
Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were terrified.  The angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for I bring you good news of great joy.  Today, in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, he is Christ the Lord.  And this will be a sign to you: you will find the baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.  Suddenly, a great company of heavenly hosts appeared with the angel, glorifying and praising God saying,
'Glory to God in the highest
and on earth peace to whom his favor rest.'"
Luke 2:8-14

This is a great story but not just any story.  It's a true story.  The story of hope and rescue.  God coming to earth to rescue his people so they can be with him and live with him forever.  It's a beautiful story.  I am humbled to be part of this story.  God revealed to me many years ago that his love for me through his birth and death on the cross.  I am so grateful.  I am also so humbled that God would many years later bring me to Hungary to share this great news, this great story with a people whom I love- my students and their families.

Praying that the truth of God that is shared everyday through love, words and actions would break through hearts causing them to see and to turn to God.  Join me in praying this for the Christmas season and beyond.
