Hello, Welcome to my Blog!
Why a blog? Why now? Well there a some pretty big changes coming up in my life. I feel the need to record them and to have the ability to connect with people in a different way. Mostly, I want to share what God has been and is doing in my life.
So, what are these big changes? I am going to Hungary to teach this fall!!! Yes, I am moving to Budapest, Hungary. I will be teaching 2nd grade at International Christian School of Budapest.
Wow! How did that happen? It was a series of events and desires of my heart. It is sweet to look back over the past two years specifically and farther back to see God's leading.
2003 ?? - desire to teach internationally begins, begin researching schools on the internet
Fall 2009- Global Outreach week at church - providential conversation that lead to a sense of calling to go
January 2010- Perspectives on the Christian World Movement class begins. Saw God's vision for the nations.
February 2010- Joined a short-term ministry team going to SE Asia to teach elementary kids for a week
July 2010 - Trip to SE Asia
October 2010- Bought book "Just Do Something" by Kevin DeYoung
January 2011- Narrowing down the school possibilities
February 2011- Applied to International Christian School of Budapest (ICSB)
March 10, 2011- Interview via Skype
March 12, 2011- Offered 2nd grade position at ICSB
March 16, 2011- Committed to a two-year teaching position at ICSB
Now the real adventure begins! I am confident that God is with me each step of the way. I hope this blog will become a place where you can read and hear about what God is doing in my life here while I make this transition and while I am in Hungary.
