Spirit Week 2013
Ahh...the long anticipated Spirit Week of the year. It's a crazy week but loads of fun. In the elementary its craziness is multiplied by it's nearness to the 100th day of school and Valentine's Day. It's like a three-in-one combo! It means that the kids are a little extra crazy for several days in a row. Plus, there was at least two indoor recess days due to rain. (Yes, rain, not below freezing temperatures.) God was good and faithful to give little blessings each day to remind me that I'd make it through. Sometimes it was a hug from a certain student or seeing one of my ELL students begin to grasp English at a whole new level or a student that were trying so hard to please and behave well.
Here's some highlights from the week:
Monday was PJ day. Sorry, no pictures. But it was nice to be comfortable all day.
Tuesday was superhero or book character day. I agonized over what to be. Finally with the help of my roommate and some creative juices I came up with a super hero idea. I was "Purple Girl" or "Purple Persuasion." The idea originated from a tablecloth that was a purple print that could be used at a cape. Every super hero needs a cape right? The idea just blossomed from there. For those of you who are wondering, yes, there really is a super hero named "Purple Girl" or "Purple Persuasion" from Marvel. I wasn't copying here look at all just used the name.
Wednesday was backwards inside out day. I didn't participate. I wasn't feeling the best as so many kids are sick. It was fun to see the kids enjoying it.
Yes, there are plastic punch cups in my hair to give it the shape. It was so much fun! I was told again and again that I looked like Cindy Loo Whoo from Dr. Seuss.
Thursday always ends with a pep rally for the whole school in the gym. Here is a video of our funny school dance that we do.
Now it's time for the ICSB basketball tournament!!!
