My classroom at Week 8

School has been in session for eight weeks.  This week is the end of our first quarter.  Where did the time go?  We've (including myself) been doing lots of learning!

In Social Studies we learned about communities and then worked on some basic map skills. My students LOVE to color.  They made these beautiful compass roses.

The last few weeks we've been learning about the story of Joshua and how he followed God.  First, we learned about how he knew God's word.  Then, we learned about how he obeyed God at the Battle of Jericho.  Finally, we learned about how Joshua, at the end of his life, challenged the people of Israel to be faithful in following God.  As a reminder, Joshua placed a stone next to a tree near the sanctuary of the Lord, to remind the people of their commitment to follow God alone.  (Joshua 23-24)  We made some stones to remind us to follow God.  I pray that my students will really live out these words and that God will show himself as my students desire to learn more about Him.

I enjoy the 'rock' that says " I want to obey God's word"  We want to obey God's word but we need his help to do it.  Lord, give the desire to obey you and to follow you with all my heart.

(Sorry, I can't post pictures of my students on line.  But, I do love to share about them and hope to do more sharing in the future.)
