Birthday Goodness
In addition to the month of February being the ICSB Basketball tournament, and Valentine's Day it is also the month of my birthday. This is technically not the first birthday away from "home" but surely the first I didn't celebrate with family. However, I got to celebrate in special way that will make this first birthday in Hungary memorable.
First, my friends from Minnesota surprised me with a large package. It was filled with little wrapped packages and some cards. In fact, there were 24 packages. One for every hour of the day. I got permission to begin opening them the night before my birthday. There were little treats such as pecans, chocolate, Pearson's Nut Roll, a candle, and magnets. It was so fun to open this gifts.
Then, that night I had made dinner reservations for 12 at an Indian restaurant in Budapest. Oh it was yummy! I got more chocolate and more flowers. Wow, I felt loved.
Finally, I opened another present from a friend in Minnesota. It was a matching mitten and scarf set in my favorite colors. They match my winter coat perfectly.

I stand back and am amazed at the way God has taken care of me on my birthday. He has blessed me with friends here in Hungary and in Minnesota. He has given me a purpose of teaching students here for the praise of his name. He has given me the opportunity to be here serving in Hungary. He has made me his own and I am so thankful for that.

Then my day at school was delightful. My classroom door was decorated. My student showered me with chocolate and flowers.
