February Madness
In the United States, it is called March Madness with college basketball tournaments but here in Hungary, I say it was February Madness.
The weekend of February 9-11, ICSB became basketball central. It was the annual invitational basketball tournament hosted by ICSB. This is a BIG deal for this school and for the participating schools. There were teams from Romania, Ukraine, and Austria, as well as another team from Budapest.
Thursday afternoon we had a pep rally and then after school the games began.
I am not a huge sports fan. In fact, this basketball tournament weekend was really only the second time I had ever watched live basketball, or really any basketball for that matter. Friday, I watched 5 hours of basketball between the ICSB boys and girls. Saturday, added about 3 more hours. There was a lot of time for good conversation. The gospel was presented on Saturday evening. It was the ICSB staff's prayer that the weekend would point people to Christ and be glorifying to God above all.
All in all, it was a fun week and weekend. I definitely had my fill of basketball. That is until next year's tournament weekend.
