Cultural Tidbit- Túró Cheese
Túró is a cheese is traditional to central europe. The best American equivalent is cottage cheese but it is different than that. Túró is often used in desserts, stuffed in bread and many other ways.
A very common Hungarian snack food item is Túró Rudi. Túró Rudi is túró cheese shaped in a cylinder with some sugar or flavor added then coated it in chocolate. It comes individually wrapped. My students will often bring them for snack. I enjoy them every once in a while too.

Ah yes, the Turo Rudi! We were introduced to those right away. They took a little getting used to. My husband's family had often used cottage cheese in some family recipes back here in the US, but the turos was so different. How did the evangelical meetings go with Billy Graham's son?
ReplyDeleteSziaSusan,
DeleteThanks for your comments. It is nice to know that people are still reading. :) I'm still getting used to all the Turo cheese in desserts. The evangelistic meetings went well. I wasn't able to attend but heard from friends who did and helped organize the event. It was well attended, God's truth was communicate, and people responded. Now the real work of following up with people takes place.
