One (Unusual) Day in Budapest

Last Sunday after church me and some friends ventured into Budapest. Here's some highlights from our adventures.

Storm Troopers- they looked Star War like to me

Weird clowns on stilts
Pretend statues that really are beggars- I've seen them before

A parade of Indian dancing complete with live music
Hoping to earn a few 100 forint for his football tricks
Movie filming in downtown, not sure who was here. Filming in Budapest is becoming pretty popular.
A fancy car infront of a fancy hotel.  This is not so unusual as they are pretty common.  I think this is a McLaren, but I am no car expert.

Later my friends and I learned that Sunday was the Feast of Corpus Christi on the Catholic Calendar.  We ended up near the festivities in at St. Steven's Basilica.  There were huge crowds from many different Eastern European countries, including Poland and Russia.  Some were marching around the city in smaller groups singing songs.

Later in the day, my friends agreed to take some nice photos for me around Budapest.  We were upon in the Castle district when this picture happened.
Yes, if I looked creeped out here it is because I was!
This man was a beggar playing for money.  He was a not very close to us but then as he saw us taking pictures decided to come over and that he needed to be in my pictures.  I ignored him as best as I could.  He kept trying to talk with me in Hungarian.  He wanted me to take his violin to play for the picture.  I didn't.  A few minutes later a different tourist tried to take a picture of me with his own camera but I guess I broke his camera cause it wouldn't take a picture!  My friend just commented that he'd have to pay a lot of money to have a picture of me.

Overall, my friends and I had a great day in Budapest.  Lots of memories made with these unusual events, too.  Oh...the adventures I've had.
