Fall In Budapest
The past month I kept seeing pictures and hearing about fall in Minnesota. It made me miss fall. Those cool crisp evenings with bright sunny warm days, leaves turning colors and falling to the ground, trips to the apple orchard, and hayrides. I'd been looking for fall for the last two months and then one day a few weeks ago the first signs of fall began to arrive in Budapest. The sumac bushes on the side of the road had turned reddish-orange. The air was getting cooler but still bright sunny days. I guess, I just forgot that fall arrives a little later in Hungary.
Fall in Hungary is beautiful, but different than Minnesota falls. It comes in more gently and slowly. It's not so sudden. It also seems to last longer. The colors are not as bright or plentiful partly due to different kinds of trees and partly due to a dry summer.
Here's few of my fall adventures in Budapest when school is not in session. Visiting a chocolate shop in downtown Budapest.
Lunch with some new friends Natalie & Lauren. Natalie teaches at a preschool nearby and Lauren teaches high school English at the American International School of Budapest.
Visiting the Városliget (City Park)
The days are getting shorter fast and cooler too. I just might have to turn the heat on this weekend as it will dip below 40 degrees F and perhaps evening below freezing at night for the first time this year.

| Any guesses who this is? (Hint: think USA) |
| Hősök Tere (Hero's Square) Yes, that really is the color of the sky. It's not enhanced. |
