Staff Retreat

About three weeks into the school year, I went on our annual staff retreat.  It's a wonderful blessing that the school is able to take us away as a group to bond, learn and rest.   This year we had the privilege of going to Lake Balaton.

Lake Balaton the largest lake in Central Europe and one of only a few in Hungary.  It's a popular tourist destination along with local residents.  Many people have second homes at Lake Balaton or vacation there for the summer.  It's about 2 1/2 hours from Budapest.

The weekend was filled with great memories.  It was cool and rainy after having several weeks of quite hot weather but we still managed to get out and enjoy the lake.   I went on several walks up and down the lake front, had an amazing hazelnut hot chocolate, and ate lots of tasty food that I didn't have to cook or clean up after.

As a staff we sat under the teaching God's word by one of our administrator's husbands.  He taught us from the book of Haggai.  We also had time to brainstorm and think about how we can be a better school to serve and reach our students and community for Christ in all aspects.

The weekend was refreshing to my soul and body after the busyness of the beginning of the school year.  It also brought about time to deepen and build new friendships with staff members.  I am thankful to God for this time and for our school in taking good care of their staff in this way.

(PS- Sorry for the poor picture qualities.  I left my camera battery in Germany and am awaiting a replacement.  These were taken with my iPod.)
