I love my job

This is how I start my day (ok, most days)....a clean desk, lesson plans ready, materials copied, and a to-do list.

Throughout the day I get fun little drawings and notes from my students.  I collect them and hang them up on my bookshelf by my desk.  They make me smile.

This isn't so much as a note or art work but a display of the amazing gift of one of my students.  She is Hungarian & Russian.  She is can speak, read, and write in three languages- Hungarian, English and Russian.  (Soon she'll be learning German, too.)  This day she was writing her friend's names in Russian.  My name is at the bottom of the paper.

This is what my desk looks like by the time my students go home.  It's a mess, generally with stacks of papers, curriculum guides, lesson plans, confiscated toys and soccer cards, and multiple other things scattered all over.  But it is worth it.  Worth every moment with these precious students.  It is an honor and privilege to be their teacher and to serve them in this way.  I love what I do.
